Welcome to

Berkeley Childminding

I am an active childminder, venturing out daily to a variety of locations including the Aquarium and Pennywell Farm to the beach or Saltram. We attend several planned sessions a week with other childminders. These include French and phonics sessions that enable the children to mix with others in a wider group. We are also regular visitors at our many local parks and attend toddler groups, visit our local residential home as well as accessing music makers and messy play sessions. An example of our daily routine can be found here.

Our afternoons are more homebased and I organise a wide range of activities that are varied to stimulate all ages including:

As well as two indoor playrooms I have an enclosed garden with a wide variety of toys including a sand pit, a ball pool, a bouncy castle. We also enjoy more natural projects such as growing catterpillars and planting vegetables.

We have a very busy morning and arrangements for comfortable, quiet rest times or naps are therefore made for children who need them.

I aim to work with parents, ensuring they get a complete picture of their child's day. I complete a daily diary with pictures and descriptions of what the children have been up to as well as compiling scrapbooks and learning journeys for each child to keep. I have also started a blog to enable parents to view more pictures of their children in action - this has proved to be very successful!

Please visit my blog for information about what we get up to day to day

Painting and drawing, baking, bug hunting, reading books, jigsaws, singing, music and movement, inventing puppet shows, messy play, craft time, heuristic play,  dressing up and so much more!
